Press Release: The Farmers State Bank of Oakley, Kansas Assumes All Deposits of Small Business Bank, Lenexa, Kansas

PRESS RELEASE | JULY 17, 2026 The Farmers State Bank of Oakley, Kansas Assumes All Deposits of Small Business Bank, Lenexa, Kansas WASHINGTON — Small Business Bank in Lenexa, Kansas, was closed today by the Kansas Office of the State Bank Commissioner, which appointed the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as receiver. The FDIC entered into an agreement with The Farmers State Bank of Oakley, Kansas, to assume substantially all deposits and purchase certain assets of Small Business Bank. As of March 31, 2026, Small Business Bank reported total assets of $73 million and total deposits of approximately $69 million. Small Business Bank’s sole branch will reopen as a branch of Farmers State Bank during its normal business hours on Monday, July 20, 2026. Depositors of Small Business Bank will automatically become depositors of Farmers State Bank. The deposits assumed by Farmers State Bank will continue to be insured by the FDIC, so there is no need for customers to change their banking relationship. Customers of Small Business Bank will have immediate access to their deposits. Over the weekend, they can access their funds by writing checks or using ATM or debit cards. Checks drawn on Small Business Bank will continue to be processed, and loan customers of Small Business Bank should continue to make payments as usual. BLM Seeks Input for January 2027 Sale of Oil and Gas Leases in Wyoming

CHEYENNE – The Bureau of Land Management today opened a 30-day public scoping period to receive input on seven existing oil and gas leases—totaling 2,508 acres—that may be included in a January 2027 lease sale in Wyoming. The scoping period ends August 16, 2026. Unlike during regular BLM quarterly lease sales, the proposed leases were not nominated through expressions of interest; they are areas that have been returned to federal ownership due to forfeiture by their original lessee. As a result, the government is offering these leases to other parties who can uphold their lease agreements and may potentially develop the areas in the future. All proposed areas have previously been approved for lease. Leasing is the first step in the process to develop federal oil and gas resources. Before development operations can begin, an operator must submit an application for permit to drill detailing development plans. The BLM reviews applications for permits to drill, posts them for public review, conducts an environmental analysis and coordinates with state partners and stakeholders. All parcels that are included in a federal oil and gas lease sale include appropriate stipulations to protect important natural resources.
