LINCOLN COUNTY, N.M. – With increasing precipitation and higher humidity, resulting in reduced fire danger, the Bureau of Land Management Roswell Field Office has terminated fire restrictions within the Fort Stanton-Snowy River Cave National Conservation Area and BLM-Rio Bonito Acquired Lands in Lincoln County, N.M. This action rescinds Fire Prevention Order LLNMPO0100-2026-001.
“The BLM appreciates the public’s cooperation to help minimize the number of human-caused wildfires,” said U.S. Wildland Fire Service Unit Fire Chief Nathan Curnutt.
Please be aware that BLM statewide Fire Prevention Order NM910-26-01 remains in effect. The order prohibits fireworks and other explosive devices on BLM lands throughout New Mexico. For more information, contact the BLM Roswell Field Office at 575-627-0272 or go to the BLM New Mexico Fire Restrictions website.
