WEM Operating LLC authorized to develop Antelope 2 Pad Kudu oil wells

The Bureau of Land Management Vernal Field Office has issued an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Antelope 2 Pad Kudu Oil Wells: DOI-BLM-UT-G010-2026-0124-EA. The Responsible Official signed a decision record under which the BLM will authorize three Applications for Permit to WEM Operating LLC (the applicant) to drill oil wells to produce from Indian Trust minerals. The EA analyzed non-surface effects of constructing the well pad with associated pipelines and access roads and drilling up to two additional wells for a total of five. The project location is on split estate lands approximately 8.7 linear miles east by southeast of Duchesne, Utah in Section 30, T4S, R3W in Duchesne County, Utah.

Riparian habitat modifications approved for Big Brush Creek

The Bureau of Land Management Vernal Field Office has issued Categorical Exclusion (CE) documentation for the Big Brush Creek Riparian Habitat Modifications: DOI-BLM-UT-G010-2026-0069-CE. The Responsible Official signed a decision record under which the BLM will install up to 10 beaver dam analogs (BDAs) or post-assisted log structures (PALs) in Big Brush Creek to improve habitat for fish and eliminate non-native vegetation in the riparian zone using hand tools and herbicide. The project location is on BLM-administered land along 0.37 acres of Big Brush Creek in Uintah County, Utah.
