Summary: The commenter opposes the proposed implementation of drain tile setbacks, arguing that draining wetlands harms aquifers, topsoil retention, and waterfowl reproduction. They urge the agency not to proceed with any plans to drain wetlands.
I can’t believe the USFAW is even considering draining any wetlands. I was under the impression that the United States wanted to enhance wetlands and the depleted aquifers. Wetlands also help water shed and retain millions of tons of topsoil from over farming.
Plus there’s the negative impact on waterfowl from less prairie pothole water for spring reproduction.
Please do not implement any bad ideas of draining ANY wetlands. Thank you
