Summary: Joshua James, Chairman of Wallowa County Ducks Unlimited, urges the agency to maintain the "no impact" policy regarding drain tile setbacks. He argues that weakening the rule would have devastating impacts on prairie habitats and conservation efforts.
As a former federal park ranger and Chairman for Wallowa Count Ducks Unlimited, I urge you to support maintaining the policy of “no impact” while providing safe harbor for landowners with approved tile drainage plans. As avid hunters and fishermen, we all know that weakening the rule will result in changes that will have devastating impacts on habitat in the prairies. My life’s mission and work has been dedicated to waterfowl and wetlands conservation. Choose to be on the right side of history. Stand with hunters, fishermen, outdoorsman, and true conservationists. This is how you will be remembered. Thank you for taking time to listen and for standing up for our land. Joshua James
