Summary: The commenter opposes the proposed action, arguing that draining wetlands will lead to increased flooding, higher wildfire risks, and a degradation of the local environment and wildlife habitats. They emphasize the importance of maintaining current wetland conditions to manage heavy rains and cool the local area.
Wetlands are critical to at least maintaining our current conditions if not helpng inprove. Allowing for any wetlands to be drained will promote more flooding which seems to be more problematic every year. Wetlands soften the impact of heavy rains by holding water so it can run off more slowly and also help cool the local area. Draining of more wetlands will increase wildfire risk. Weakening wetlands protections is a serious threat to our environment, not to mention wildlife.
