Hey this sucks. Its policies place more surveillance and scrutiny on transgender Americans, a group which encompasses many of my friends and peers as a gay man and who already have to deal with social and systemic biases that make medical transition hard to accomplish regardless of any of these regulations. The assertions made in the proposal that HRT has negative effects on the mental and neurological health of transgender people exists in stark contrast to their accounts of how transitioning has improved their lives and well-being when allowed to live without surveillance. A lot of leftists like to be "If you block this people are gonna kill themselves because they have to detransition or won't be able to start" - I think that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but I've often seen people who can't transition spending more time depressed, dyphoric and isolated from other people (whether from transphobia they experience or the aforementioned depression), which certainly constitutes some kind of harm.
