Summary: The commenter opposes the citizen petition by Lauren H. Schwartz et al., arguing that it infringes on medical autonomy and privacy while potentially leading to the criminalization of hormone replacement therapy (HRT). They also criticize the website's transparency regarding the number of comments received.
The citizen petition from Lauren H. Schwartz, et al, is a thinly-veiled, gross attempt to infringe upon the rights to medical autonomy and personal privacy, and can easily slide into HIPPA violations. The “evidence” cited is at best weak, self-referential, lacking in peer review or proper credentials, and unreliable. Additionally, it is an obvious first step by known anti-trans hate groups toward banning and criminalizing DIY HRT, which is itself a step toward attempts to banning/criminalizing all HRT access and to criminalize trans people. The petition constitutes an infringement on the legal right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
It is also noted by this commenter that the website collecting comments has received far more comments than have been posted, meaning the website is likely cherry-picking from the comments made. The fair and right thing to do is post all comments.
