Comment from Watson, Shari

Summary: The commenter opposes the citizen petition, characterizing the arguments within it as pseudoscientific and alarmist. They argue that the petition infringes on the rights of parents to make informed medical decisions for their children and urge the public to stop interfering in the lives of transgender individuals.
Pseudoscientific, alarmist inaccuracies from groups identified by the SPLC as hate groups are what you will find in this petition. Some aren't even in the US (Genspect). There are no actual facts in the comments. The ridiculous notion that something that has been used successfully and without overt negative consequences for over 50 years suddenly causes problems is just that--ridiculous. Are there negative side effects from estrogen as HRT? Of course, and there are also negative side effects from a natal female having estrogen in her body. Breast cancer, anyone? There is not a single drug or compound or product on Earth that carries zero risk. Just ask any hay fever sufferer. All of the comments so far--except for mine as of this date--are from stirred up, agitated hatemongers who want to mind the business of people for whom they are not responsible and should not be responsible. They have no skin in the game, and they should quietly go sit down and let those impacted by gender dysphoria make their own decisions. It is, after all, their lives. For all the talk of parents' rights, it's breathtakingly hypocritical to see so many people want to remove the rights of parents to make informed medical decisions for their children, with the consultation and guidance of real physicians. Not hate groups. I'm sorry that some of the commenters and signatories of the petition have poor relationships with their children. I doubt that they have lost contact with their kids or been cut out of their lives because their kids began using estrogen for transitioning. I imagine that any child unsupported by their parent might feel inclined to cut contact with them or have a poor relationship with them. Maybe some family therapy could help. Back to this petition. Butt out. Leave trans people alone. Go bully someone else.
