This petition is harmful, unnecessary, and discriminatory. Restricting the use of estrogen based on sex assigned at birth endangers transgender women. There is no reason for additional barriers for transgender women to access a drug that cisgender women can access easily. Doctors have been safely prescribing estrogen to "natal males" for decades with extreme and well-documented success. Requiring a registry of users is unprecedented, and could lead to a massive leak of sensitive data. At a time when transgender women are increasingly the targets of hate crimes, building a database of their information puts THOUSANDS of American lives at risk. All citizens have a right to medicine without surveillance, at the discretion of themselves and their medical providers! Please dismiss this discriminatory petition and ensure all those seeking access to estrogen for medical treatment (regardless of diagnosis or sex assigned at birth) are treated equally.
