I strongly support this petition. As an MRI technologist, I believe greater transparency regarding RF intensity and distribution is an important step toward improving patient safety. RF-related burns remain one of the most common MRI-associated patient injuries, yet end users currently have limited information about where RF energy is concentrated within the patient-accessible area. Providing RF distribution maps would give MRI professionals another valuable tool to make informed decisions, improve protocol optimization, and reduce unnecessary risk. Increased transparency benefits patients, technologists, radiologists, physicists, and manufacturers alike. I encourage the FDA to require manufacturers to provide this information so MRI safety can continue to advance through evidence-based practice.
