Summary: Tobias Gilk, a registered MRI technologist, supports the petition to improve MRI safety by requiring the documentation and indexing of incidents involving MRI and electronic devices. He argues that this transparency is necessary to prevent imaging centers from concealing incidents and to ensure public safety.
This is an important petition and would improve MRI safety for patients. I am a registered MRI technologist and have worked at several imaging centers who may not have bwen forthright about reporting incidences involving MRI and electronic devices. Having these incidences documented, indexed appropriately would insure that imaging centers and device companies are properly reporting these incidents and readily availabke to the public. I have seen imaging centers trying to bury some of these incidents to avoid scrutiny from regulatory and watchdog agencies. Thank fir considering this opinion
