Summary: The commenter, a private individual who suffered from a chronic health condition, argues that current FDA regulations are too loose and allow for harmful processed ingredients in the food supply. They urge the agency to take action to make food healthier and safer to combat obesity, food addiction, and chronic health issues.
As someone who was diagnosed with a chronic condition at the early age of 20, I take the food I consume very seriously. Unfortunately, with the loose FDA regulations in America, especially in comparison to other countries, I had to learn about the harmful effects of these ingredients after I had already been diagnosed with my condition. I have fortunately been able to reverse my condition, but it is clear it occurred due to a variety of issues- starting with food. These processed refined carbs that are in everything lead to the same result I experienced- getting diagnosed with a chronic condition. It is clear that the food we consume daily affects our health and longevity. Please help American citizens lead fuller, healthier, and VITAL lives with reduced rates of food addiction, obesity, and the chronic health crisis continuum by making our food healthy and safe again.
