Summary: The commenter argues that the FAA's medical certification process is non-transparent and unfairly bars stable individuals, such as those using insulin, from flying. They advocate for allowing these individuals to fly based on their track record of safety and demand greater public accountability from the FAA.
The FAA has an onerous, nonpublic, non-transparent medical process and the use of insulin is a prime example. Many people with modern medicine are stable, healthy, and productive members of society. Given a long track record of healthy flying these individuals should be allowed to return to flying and should not be barred from flying in hidden medical processes. The FAA is a public govt entity and it should be beholden to the people.
