The Consumers Injection Well permit, even with their revised edition, seems not to offer reassurance or concrete protocols to increase public confidence that our well water will be protected from harm. I appreciate the public hearing format, and note that already 200 + public comments have been submitted. I would greatly appreciate the EPA's careful review of those comments and the public's opposition as we seek to protect our well water and our general environment. I also would find it helpful if the EPA more publicly noted the condition of our groundwater--not simply the quality, but the diminishing aquifer--so that property owners might be good stewards of these resources. I frankly don't trust a power company to have the environment's interests as top of their values, so setting up parameters, regulations, and monitoring seems to be a strong order.
