Summary: The commenter, a full-time prediction market trader, supports the federal regulation of prediction markets to ensure market efficiency and clarity. They advocate for federal oversight over a state-by-state approach and emphasize the importance of enforcing rules against insider trading.
I am a full-time prediction market trader and wanted to submit a comment in support of prediction markets. I use them both as a source of information on current events as well as trade on them. I trade on many different types of markets, but my favorite markets are mention markets, politics markets and elections. I think having these markets regulated at a federal level makes the most sense and will allow for more clear and efficient markets compared to taking a state by state approach to regulations. Current regulated platforms do a good job with fair and accurate resolutions, especially compared to unregulated offshore platforms. Continued bans on and enforcement against using insider information to trade on prediction markets is also important to me.
