Summary: An individual citizen opposes the proposed commercial leasing for minerals on the Outer Continental Shelf. They argue that the action prioritizes short-term commercial gain over the protection of wildlife, tourism, and natural ecosystems.
I strongly oppose this. Our coastlines and natural spaces are not just resources to be exploited—they’re places that support wildlife, recreation, tourism, and future generations. It feels like greed continues to outweigh stewardship, and we’re watching more and more of our most treasured places be put at risk for short-term gain. Issues like this are absolutely going to make me rethink how I vote. We need leaders who prioritize protecting these special places instead of opening them up for commercial interests. Once these ecosystems are damaged, we can’t simply replace them.
