CME FirearmsOpposeIndividual
Summary: The commenter opposes the proposed rule because they believe it will harm local gun shops by favoring large online retailers and removing face-to-face interactions. They argue that the rule lacks sufficient human oversight and request the removal of the provisions allowing direct shipping of standard firearms.
This rule will kill local gun shops. By letting big online stores ship standard guns directly to homes, you take away the face-to-face sales that keep small shops open. A video call cannot replace a person who knows their neighbors and spots trouble before a sale happens. Unlike current laws where the government must approve NFA transfers, this new plan just waits for a clock to run out without any real human yes. According to the rule, buyers will even have to pay extra for identity checks. These shops are part of our towns. Please remove the parts of this rule that allow direct shipping of standard firearms.
