Summary: The commenter, an individual, strongly opposes the proposed action, arguing that it would make it easier for the USPS to deliver firearms and for individuals to transport assault weapons across state lines. They express concern that these policies prioritize the gun industry over public safety and contribute to gun violence.
I am absolutely terrified and angry about the Trump Administration working tirelessly to dismantle life-saving, common sense gun laws that help keep our communities and children safer as well as prevent dangerous criminals from causing catastrophic harm and death.. I strongly oppose allowing policies making it easier for the USPS to deliver firearms and making it easier for individuals to travel with assault weapons as they cross state lines. I demand that the Trump Administration back out of passing these dangerous policies and stop and think about the countless families who sent their kids to school, only to find out that they lost their lives in a mass shooting. Think about the immense trauma, the classmates, teachers, school staff, and everyone else have to face when witnessing such horrific acts of violence that could’ve been prevented. We need to stop accepting that gun violence is a part of life in the United States and start learning from other countries that do not mess around, deciding to put human life and public safety ahead of politics, profits, and the gun industry. The second amendment may be written in the constitution, however, I strongly argue that every single one of us has the right to live in a world where bad actors cannot easily access, firearms, and commit heinous crimes and where communities can go to school, church, the grocery store, a concert, a shooter, and live freely without the fear of someone dying from gun violence.
