Summary: An assistant district attorney in Kansas supports the proposed rule change to reduce the paperwork burden for individuals transporting NFA items across state lines. The commenter argues that the change will foster interstate commerce and allow sportsmen to travel more easily to share their interests.
Hello, I am an assistant district attorney in Kansas, a voter, and a taxpayer. I am also a gun owner, and, recently, I applied for my first NFA tax stamp. I am writing in support of ATF's proposed rule change that would alleviate an unnecessary burden on individuals transporting NFA items across state lines for lawful purposes. The proposed rule change would encourage sportsman to travel farther afield, foster interstate commerce, and strengthen bonds of comradery and friendship by helping likeminded individuals to come together to share their common interest in NFA items without the unnecessary paperwork currently required by ATF. I recommend the adoption of the change as proposed. Thank You
