Summary: The commenter opposes the proposed change to ATF forms regarding biological sex, arguing that it provides no material benefit and may cause confusion for law enforcement during investigations. They characterize the rule as a waste of government resources and time driven by cultural issues rather than practical safety concerns.
One would think that an ATF agent might have a difficult time identifying a biological female who is male presenting thus causing more danger to officers who are trying to locate someone based on their biological sex versus their presenting gender. This change does not seem to be a benefit to the system and the intent seems to be based on culture war issues thus has been a waste of time for the people who had to write this rule, complete all the required technical changes to the form etc. even getting it to the point of public comment has been a waste of money, time and resources. This change does not in any way make a material change nor does the data do anything helpful aside from possibly causing confusion when law enforcement look for a specific age biological female based on description and are unable to locate said press because they are only visually seeing a man. Taking the time out of my day to add this comment was as much a waste of time as the likely 6 months of work that has gone into a change that does nothing to actually strengthen gun laws.
