simply calling out this particular proposed change for what it is a roundabout ban on transgender gun ownership. Even the NRA stood against a ban on trans-individuals owning firearms when Trump proposed it. This will prevent otherwise. law-abiding citizens from purchasing firearms. If someone has changed their gender indicator on their legal government documents that no longer matches their birth certificate, they will no longer be able to purchase firearms under this law with no recourse to changing that fact. In my honest opinion, gender or biological sex should have no part in the purchase of a firearm to begin with.
