Summary: The commenter, identifying as a lifelong Second Amendment proponent and gun owner, opposes the proposed action. They argue that the requirement to select biological sex on ATF forms is a violation of the Second Amendment and an attempt to target and disarm specific ideological and religious groups.
This is obviously in direct contradiction to the Second Amendment. There is no reasonable argument to be made otherwise. This is nothing more than an attempt to further marginalize and target an already marginalized group of people. I am a lifelong, “dyed-in-the-wool” 2nd amendment proponent/gun owner snd I am adamantly opposed to this legislation. Anyone paying attention knows that this is an attempt to set precedent for disarming American citizens whose beliefs systems, religious views and, most certainly, political ideology are in conflict with the current administration’s. This is nothing more than an attempt to take away rights from law-abiding American citizens, specifically it is an attempt to disarm it’s perceived political/ideological enemies which happens to be the VERY reason that our founding fathers made sure that right was to never be infringed upon. A vote for this is a vote AGAINST the freedom of the American people. It’s a vote against ALL of our second amendment freedoms.
