Summary: A transgender veteran opposes the proposed action, arguing that the government should respect individual identities and rights. The commenter emphasizes that all humans are equal and calls for the government to stop "betraying" veterans.
Served honorably in the US Infantry for 8 years. Artillery rope, infantry rope, made it to Corporal and left a positive impact at my unit. Figured out I was transgender after my service time. I have respected and been respected by many people different than me throughout my time of service, and I deserve to continue to be respected as myself for who I am even now. I volunteer with the VA, I help brothers and sisters with PTSD find ways to reintegrate back into normal life, and I think it's time that the government stops betraying veterans in the numerous and endless ways they have been. We are all humans, we are all weird, and we all are equal. Leave our rights alone, for they are inalienable. You tell us that in training and at our posts, so live and be true to what you speak.
