Summary: The commenter, identifying as a cis woman, supports the action of selecting biological sex on ATF forms. She argues that maintaining a clear definition of "woman" is necessary for women's safety and the protection of Second Amendment rights.
I am a cis woman. This affects all of us. When any gender is subject to the whims of the state, it loses all meaning. If the state decides that a transgender woman is not a woman, it opens up the floodgates to deciding anyone is not a woman. This is often done by violent means. Strip searches have already taken place, even inside of schools. Trans-based misogyny will (and already has) affected women of all types that do not conform to gender norms, such as ones that have short hair or square faces. A woman cannot control some traits about her, but even if it's a trait she could, why should that bar her from defending herself? We deserve to protect ourselves, and to uphold the second amendment. I believe in the Constitution and I believe in America.
