The Maryland Department of Human Services respectfully submits the attached public comment on the above-referenced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, "Reducing Bureaucracy and Burden for Family Assistance Programs" (RIN 0970–AD38; Docket No. ACF–2026–0496). Our comments focus on three provisions proposed for removal — §§ 260.50 and 260.52 (Family Violence Option), §§ 261.21 and 261.23 (Work Participation Rates), and §§ 264.70 and 264.71 (Contingency Fund) — and respectfully urge ACF to retain these provisions or take clarifying action prior to finalizing the rule.
