We strongly urge the Trump Administration to reject the Quartz Surface Products safeguard petition and oppose any additional tariffs or import restrictions on quartz products. Additional tariffs of any kind — especially the proposed 25%-40% increases — would be devastating to our industry, American businesses, and consumers nationwide. The quartz industry has already endured years of rising costs, existing tariffs, shipping increases, inflation, and supply chain pressures. Businesses like ours have been forced to absorb constant price increases while trying to remain competitive in an already difficult economy. Customers are exhausted from rising prices and simply do not want to pay more. Every additional tariff immediately raises costs for homeowners, builders, fabricators, dealers, distributors, installers, and small businesses across the country. Quartz is already an expensive product. Increasing tariffs further will push projects out of reach for many consumers and will directly result in lost jobs, canceled projects, reduced sales, and slower economic growth throughout the entire industry. This will not help American workers — it will hurt them. The reality is that fabricators, installers, dealers, and distributors are the backbone of this industry. We are the companies creating jobs, serving customers, investing in equipment, employing local workers, and driving economic activity in communities across America. Additional tariffs threaten our ability to operate, grow, and compete. The proposed safeguard measures would impact every level of the supply chain: * Consumers will pay significantly higher prices for countertops and construction projects. * Builders and contractors will face increased housing and renovation costs. * Dealers and distributors will struggle to move inventory due to reduced demand. * Fabricators will lose jobs, revenue, and future investment opportunities. * Small businesses will be squeezed even further by costs they cannot continue absorbing. At a time when Americans are already struggling with affordability, housing costs, and inflation, imposing more tariffs on quartz products would make these problems worse. Higher countertop prices do not strengthen the economy — they slow it down. We respectfully ask President Trump and the Administration to stand with the thousands of small and mid-sized American businesses that depend on affordable quartz imports to survive. Rejecting additional tariffs will protect American jobs, support housing and construction growth, preserve consumer choice, and prevent unnecessary price increases on American families. The industry does not need more tariffs. The market cannot sustain more increases. Customers do not want to pay more, businesses cannot continue absorbing rising costs, and the economic damage from additional restrictions would be severe. We strongly urge the Administration to reject the Quartz Surface Products safeguard petition in its entirety and impose no additional tariffs or import quotas whatsoever.
