Hello everyone, I am from Ukraine and came here under the U4U program, I did everything on time and legally, I have no violations in 2 years of living here and at the moment my work authorization is delayed for 4 months since the expiration date of my previous one. I started my journey here working in stores, then having earned enough money to study at a driving school, I went to study at a driving school and after driving school I worked as a truck driver in a large company, had a class A CDL and after working for more than half a year I did not have any violations. I planned to earn enough money and go to study at a university here, but unfortunately with the new law where only citizens can get a CDL - I lost the opportunity to work on a truck. And without work permit, I don’t understand at all how I am supposed to survive here? How am I supposed to buy myself food? Clothes? How am I supposed to pay for housing? Education? How can I feel freedom without the opportunity to earn? I sincerely do not understand the point in restricting this right. I love the USA and want to build my future here by making my useful contribution in exchange for opportunities and freedom. What good can come from people who want to do but simply can't do anything? What happens if there is no free will and no right of choice? When you are hungry - you will go looking for food because it is a biological need. Without a work permit I feel like an animal in a cage... In 4 months I spent more than $8000 just to exist... I saved this money for education and saved it for more than half a year, living only on necessities…
