Summary: A US citizen and sponsor of Ukrainian families opposes the proposal, arguing that making it difficult to obtain work authorizations will harm local businesses and place a financial burden on the communities that support these families. The commenter encourages the agency to withdraw the proposal in its current form.
DHS Docket No. USCIS-2026-0067 As a US citizen and sponsor of two Ukrainian families under the Uniting for Ukraine program. These families we welcomed quickly become self-supporting and filled needed roles of employment in our community of 2,000 people. They are being productive members or our community. They have purchased their own homes. In addition to sales taxes, real estate taxes, and income taxes, they pay fees for re-parole and work permits. Blocking or making it difficult to obtain work authorizations will hurt local businesses facing labor shortages, while placing a financial burden back on the communities who have welcome them. You are encouraged to withdraw this proposal in its current form. Thank you.
