To the Department of Homeland Security: I write as a homeowner, business owner, and community member in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, to strongly oppose the proposed rule restricting work authorization for humanitarian parolees, specifically those who arrived under Uniting for Ukraine (U4U). Our family has personally sponsored and welcomed a Ukrainian family into our community. We know firsthand the immense dedication, resilience, and contribution these individuals bring. They are not transient applicants. They are our neighbors, coworkers, and active participants in the local economy. Their presence has galvanized our community in ways that would not have otherwise been possible and brought significant pride to those who contributed to their ability to live and work in our Country. Stripping work authorization mid-process introduces destabilizing uncertainty. It prevents self-reliance. It forces families who have already fled devastation into sudden administrative limbo. Federal policy must prioritize stability and economic continuity for those who followed every legal channel to seek safety. Agencies are obligated to weigh real-world impacts during this comment period. The human and economic cost of this rule change is entirely counterproductive. Withdraw this proposal.
