Summary: The commenter requests that the SBA provide diverse examples of how the proposed regulation applies to various racial and social backgrounds. They argue that these examples are necessary to ensure transparency, fairness, and consistent application of the legal standard for all applicants.
SBA should provide examples demonstrating how the proposed regulation applies to applicants from a variety of backgrounds. Examples should illustrate how the rule would apply to Black, Hispanic, Asian Pacific, Native American, Subcontinent Asian, and White applicants, as well as applicants who are not members of a presumed socially disadvantaged group. The purpose is not to favor any category of applicant, but to ensure that everyone understands how the same legal standard will be applied consistently. Comprehensive examples would improve fairness, transparency, and public confidence in the program.
