Summary: A private individual argues that the proposed action should include stricter safety guidelines to prevent the overpressurization of low-pressure gas distribution systems. They emphasize that public safety and the prevention of catastrophic incidents are more important than the high costs of maintenance.
It is my belief that in order to prevent catastrophic incidents such as the one that happened in Massachusetts in 2018, there needs to be an increase in safety guidelines to prevent the overpressurization of low pressure gas distribution systems. A near spontaneous combustion of households seems to be an excellent reason for stricter guidelines about gas systems. While the cost of maintenance would be high, the safety and lives of people is more important that mere money.
