The proposed pseudonymizing protocol is insufficient to protect confidential, sensitive medical information of judges and their dependents. The proposed protocol also fails to give advanced notice to judges that their information is sought to be disseminated, or any notice after-the-fact, that it has been disseminated. In an era of ever-growing security risks, the proposed protocols also offer no protection of the information once it has been released under the proposed protocols set forth in the June 2026 Notice. I strongly urge OPM to reconsider its proposal so sensitive medical information of federal judges and their dependents are protected, and that in place of the current propose, OPM propose revised protocol that is strategic and mindful of security risks and dangers.
