I write to raise concerns on behalf of the judges in the District of Idaho that the proposed pseudonymizing protocol is insufficient to protect confidential, sensitive medical information of judges and their dependents. Further, the protocols fail to give advanced notice to judges that their information is being sought for dissemination or even after-the-fact notice that it has been disseminated. The protocols also offer no protection of the information once it has been released under the proposed protocols set forth in the June 2026 Notice. The judges in the District of Idaho urge OPM to reconsider its proposal and protect the sensitive medical information of federal judges and their dependents in a more robust way than is currently proposed.
