This is a path to cutting corners and eliminating numbers of the workforce with no viable reasoning. All this is going to do is open doors to added lawsuits and policy reversals like so much of the DOGE cutting and employee eliminations in 2024. How much of that is being walked back, backpay and backtime being issued, when it doesn't have to be. Leadership comes from the top down, and all the items in question can readily be addressed through those channels as they have been since 1978. All these policies do is weaken the workforce, weaken the government response, and weaken confidence in an already shakey public perception of the government as a whole. The means currently on the books are the fairest possible and should be retained, and OPM and MSPB should have absolutely no joint dealings between them. MSPB is meant to be independent, leave it as such.
