Summary: The commenter supports the proposed action and urges the OCC to impose stricter transparency requirements on coin companies operating as uninsured banks. They specifically request that these companies publicly disclose their human owners, foreign investors, and interest earners to better police risks associated with foreign government ties.
I’m asking the OCC to require that any coin company operating as one of these uninsured banks publicly name the actual humans who own and profit from it, its foreign investors, and who keeps the interest that this reserve earns BEFORE It QUALIFIES UNDER THE RULE.
Because a watchdog who can’t see who profits from the bank has no way to police the risks that the rules aim to catch. The reported UAE stake is proof that this concern is real.
I’m asking the OCC to give a harder deeper review to any coin company whose ownership runs through elected officials, their families, or investors tied to foreign governments.
