Summary: A constituent and resident of the state requests that the office urge the National Park Service to halt land exchanges on Cumberland Island until a formal oversight review is conducted and the results are made public. The commenter argues that current plans lack transparency and accountability.
The National Park Service’s most recent plans for Cumberland Island and its Wilderness have lacked transparency, accountability, and adherence to Cumberland Island National Seashore’s legislative intent. As a constituent, I respectfully request that your office urge NPS to stop advancing and funding any land exchanges until a formal oversight review is conducted and the public has access to its results. This issue is important to me as a resident of (your state) who values wild places like Cumberland Island and supports the preservation of public lands, especially along our Eastern Coast.
