Summary: An individual is requesting that the government stop fishing activities and protect various species of sharks and fish. They argue that fishing is cruel because fish are sentient beings capable of experiencing pain.
Please stop killing the poor fish and sharks and leave them in peace. People don't need to eat fish and/or sharks, so please leave them alone. Please protect the fish and the sharks instead, and do not torture and/or kill the fish and sharks anymore. Fishing does cause pain for fish. Recent studies reflect this discovery of fish actually experiencing pain. So, it would make sense that fish feel pain when being pierced with a hook or dying of asphyxia when taken out of the water. Please protect all the Atlantic sharpnose sharks, Bonnethead sharks, Atlantic Blacknose sharks, Blacktip sharks, Spinner sharks, Blue common thresher sharks, Porbeagle sharks, Bull sharks, Blue sharks, Lemon sharks, Nurse sharks, Tiger sharks, Shortfin mako sharks, Sandbar sharks, Silky sharks, Smoothhound sharks, Finetooth sharks, Scalloped Hammerhead sharks, Smooth Hammerhead sharks, Great Hammerhead sharks, and all the other types of sharks out there, because they are precious and they deserve protection just as other animals do.
