I have been certified by ASE as a master automobile and heavy duty truck technician for more than 30 years. I'm also a CDL driver.
"Under Section 23010(b)(2), prior to prescribing the FMVSS, the Secretary is required to conduct a review of AEB systems in use in applicable commercial motor vehicles and address any identified deficiencies in those systems in the rulemaking proceeding, if practicable."
This was not done and I want to know why? The radar sensors being used on trucks are the same ones being used on cars! Why do they work on cars but not on trucks? The foundation brake and ABS systems on trucks are the problem! I have several more comments getting into specifics and I expect them all to be addressed by NHTSA and FMCSA. The law as written is clear enough. These agencies haven't done their lawfully prescribed job! I have one interest here. I want to save my neighbor's lives. To do that I guess I'll have to rub these agencies noses into what they have left on the carpet here...
