Summary: The commenter argues that automatic braking systems can be dangerous and lead to loss of vehicle control, particularly in winter conditions or during specific maneuvers like merging. They suggest that the technology can cause jackknifing and advocate for regulators to experience truck driving firsthand before making a decision.
Auto braking system isn’t the best. I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve been thrown into the dash due to that system when no one was in front of me. Plus when people jump in front of you then slam on their brakes throws you into the dash also. Mostly it is important to think about winter time and the accidents that happen as a result of braking assist, the Jackknifes, the sliding because someone gets mad at you for being to slow or you won’t move out of their way fast enough. What about when they come off a ramp and you can’t move over but they won’t get to hwy speed when merging. It causes you truck to brake hard and you can lose control on snow covered roads. Before you make a decision on this issue ride with a truck driver for a week then make you decision.
