PROPIN CONFIDENTIAL IRS-2026-0067 Notice 2026-4 Office of the Associate Chief Counsel for Procedure and Administration I am confirming it is necessary to Modify the regulations for the Internal Revenue Code’s electronic furnishing requirements applicable to any persons other than brokers required to furnish other payee statements due to identity theft and unauthorized third party, to enforce compliance and effective tax administration and impose penalties on these third parties for failure to file timely correct information returns, payee statements, similarly defining a payee statement by cross-referencing various other sections of the Code that require the furnishing of payee statements. The Information Reporting for payments and reimbursements or refunds of qualified tuition and related expenses, for payments of interest on qualified education loans, and Public Hearing for Procedure and Administration for reasonable cause and Statements Required for employer compliance with requirements for consent, disclosure, format, notice, access period and my Statement of Consent Withdrawal, which is shall be effective immediately upon the notification by the Secretary of the Department of the Treasury, the Department of Justice’s Attorney General’s authority of my behalf, shall such Notice of Public Hearing for violations of Income Tax regulations or to the Employment Taxes and Collection of Income Tax at Source regulations.
