Summary: The commenter opposes the proposed restrictions on products used in housing programs, arguing that the requirements will increase costs and hinder the development of low and affordable housing. They suggest that the "best buy" products for budget-conscious projects are often not American-made.
I understand the intent of the act. However I feel the negative impact out weighs the positive. Housing builds and remodels are always difficult to budget and more often than not need to go back to the drawing board with "budget engineering". Historically for this reason developers and builders seek the best buy on products and unfortunately those generally are not American made. I feel by adding restrictions to supplies will greatly hinder development in low and affordable housing projects do to the added cost resulting in less projects being started.
