Summary: The commenter suggests that transit agencies should be held to a standard for successful operator logons to improve the reliability of trip-level information and arrival predictions. They argue that establishing this as an enforceable metric would encourage agencies to prioritize logon success.
It would be quite helpful if transit agencies were held to a standard of successful logon percentages for the operators. Route information is collected and displayed based upon a successful logon by the operator. If there is a failed/missed logon, no trip-level information is available (i.e. arrival predictions). If this was an established and enforceable metric, then agencies might be more inclined to ensure emphasis is placed on the logon. In my experience, the missed logon is the root of many evils.
