I recommend first and foremost that we ban commercial guiding on public lands, especially for recreational activities that are limited and finite such as climbing and river boating. It is neither necessary or appropriate to have commercial businesses given permits and limiting American taxpayers access to those permits.
The government is denying public land access to working class taxpayers through a lottery system and favoring the rich who can afford to hire a commercail operator who are always allotted permits ensuring the rich would always have a permit.
There are enough people in the country now who have the experience and skills to occupy every permit, eliminating the need for commercial guides. The American way used to be if you want to do something work at how to do it, now it's if you have money just buy your way out of it, to it, around it.
