My beautiful girl Ellie was given the Librela shot on January 5, 2024 for what the veterinarian said was osteoporosis in her hips, at first it seemed OK, at least for one day, then the diarrhea started. She seemed to want to go to the bathroom but couldn’t go to the bathroom and yet she had diarrhea, which didn’t make any sense. I took her back to the vet and the vet found that she had an enlarged bladder because she wasn�t able to urinate for them. Her bladder was drained, but she was never able to urinate on her own again. We were not aware of that until later because she wore a diaper for the diarrhea, but you really can’t tell the difference between urination and diarrhea in a diaper. She was very confused. Wanted to go outside even though it was 13 degrees outside and snowing, she paced the rooms, panted and stared at the wall, all things that she never normally did. Her back left leg swelled to twice it’s size for no reason. She would drink water then throw it up. She couldn’t or wouldn’t eat and finally, we decided we had to put her out of that horrible misery! My beautiful happy girl spent the last two weeks of her life in a living hell. The necropsy showed that there was something wrong with every organ in her body. Before the Librela shot, all she had was shaking in her hips. She did not deserve to die like this. She was the sweetest girl ever & I miss her every day My vet was supposed to report it. I don’t believe he did, I reported it, and it was confirmed that it was received. This is a horrible drug. It should be taken off the market before any sweet babies have to suffer like my girl did.
