My dog Bailey had arthritis in her elbows. She had her very own stroller for long walks but was otherwise healthy and able to do short walks on her own. Normal blood tests results, normal fecals, perfect yearly exams. My vet recommended Librela on a routine visit and told me they have had good results with no side effects. I didn’t want to seem cheap and wanted to help Bailey in any way I could. The first shot made no difference at all. I wanted to stop giving it, but was told to give it another go because sometimes it takes more than one shot. The first thing I noticed was my dog lost muscle in her hind end and became very weak. She would pant a lot and shift her weight constantly on her bed. She couldn’t get comfortable. Then she would bark at odd hours at night. I thought she needed to go potty so I would let her out. She would bark again. A slow bark - more of an attention getting bark than an alerting bark. She would space off. She lost her appetite. I had to put the food in my hand and she would nibble at it but was not interested in eating. She lost her personality - her SPARK. She would fall on the hardwood floor or garage floor and do the splits. She had no control of her back legs. She lost her hearing! She developed weird bumps on her body and face. Vet could not explain where or why they appeared. She no longer wagged her tail when company came or when we came home. She would lick her bed until it was soaking wet. She would lick her front legs until they were soaked. She was always thirsty and was losing her hair in clumps. Then an ultrasound showed a tumor on her liver lobe. It was downhill from there. She had multi organ failure and bled internally. IF you have any compassion for animals or the people that love them so much, you will do the right thing and take this product off the market or warn vets and owners of the dangers! I will tell everyone I know to avoid this drug at all costs and euthanasia is more humane than letting this drug destroy their pet from the inside out. My dog did not need to die!
