Dear Sir,
I am in favour of phasing out amalgam fillings, but please do NOT issue a blanket ban until a SELF-SETTING white filling (preferably without aluminium or other heavy metals) is developed and made available. The reason is that some cannot tolerate the frequencies of the light-emitting gadget used to set the currently-used white fillings. The brain and nerve pain which follows is intolerable and lasts for at least a week. Sufferers cannot formulate a single thought without intense pain, and therefore must continue with amalgam fillings for the present.
I look forward to a time when a self-setting white filling becomes available.
