It has come to my attention that the phrase "pasture raised" concerning eggs has not been appropriately defined, much less enforced. Consumers are being cheated out of hard earned dollars believing they are getting healthier eggs from chickens that are raised in actual pasture and being allowed to forage a natural diet. This is unacceptable. Consumers deserve truth in advertising, and the farmers who actually raised chickens in pasture rather than pens deserve credit for doing so.
The FDA needs to take as much care concerning our eggs as they do milk or other products.
