Summary: The commenter argues that the FDA should implement stricter regulations and oversight for egg farmers to ensure accurate food labeling. They specifically advocate for mandatory rules requiring that "pasture raised" chickens actually spend time in pastures rather than just having outside access.
Having proper and thorough oversight and regulation policies in place for food production is extremely important and yet very much lacking by the FDA. The FDA should absolutely mandate strict rules, oversight and regulation for egg farmers. To claim the chickens are “pasture raised” those chickens should be out in the pastures for real and not just have access to the outside. Consumer trust relies on accurate food labeling and strict oversight.
