Comment from Food Contact Safety Council

The Food Contact Safety Council (FCSC) appreciates the opportunity to provide comments on FDA's scientific evaluation of ortho-phthalates authorized for food contact use and the agency's proposed chemically or pharmacologically related (CPR) grouping approach. FCSC supports FDA's science-based post-market review efforts and encourages a transparent, weight-of-evidence approach to grouping decisions that considers toxicological similarity, mode of action, current food contact uses, and realistic exposure scenarios. The attached comments provide FCSC's recommendations regarding the proposed CPR grouping and food contact-specific considerations relevant to any future cumulative risk assessment.
